A 160 km ski tour on Bylot Island with Dave Garrow and Frank Wolf. The team summited Angilaaq Mountain, the highest peak on the island, and several other smaller peaks en route.

Frank Wolf and Todd McGowan paddled 620 km from Nain, NL to Kangiqsualujjuaq, QC via a new route that travelled West over the Labrador Plateau into the George River and then north to Ungava Bay. The journey took 21 days to complete. see KITTURIAQ page of this website for more info.

2011-Boreal Heart Expedition
Frank Wolf and Todd McGowan successfully completed a 1,120 km canoe excursion from Pakashkan Lake in Ontario due north to Peawanuck up by the SW corner of Hudson Bay. The route travelled along the Brightsand River, then through the length of Wabakimi Park, across the Albany River at Fort Hope, up to Winisk Lake and then down the Winisk River to Peawanuck. 2010- On the Line expedition: Frank Wolf and Todd McGowan successfully completed a 2,400 km self-propelled journey by bicycle, foot, pack raft and sea kayak during a ground-level investigation of the proposed Enbridge Northern Gateway Pipeline project which would cross over 1,000 watercourses and bring oil supertanker traffic up the B.C. coast for the first time ever. Mammalian Expedition: Frank Wolf and Taku Hokoyama canoed 2,004 km in 46 days from Yellowknife to Rankin Inlet. The route crossed the largest wilderness area in North America and the resulting film and articles will share the adventure and look into the issues facing the region from the perspective of the Inuit, Dene, and other stakeholders in this vast region. The main water links in the route are: Great Slave Lake, Stark Lake, Meridien Lake, Daisy Lake, Snowdrift River, Eileen River System, Sled Creek System, Timberhill Lake, Lynx Lake, Thelon River System, Baker Lake, Chesterfield Inlet, Barbour Bay, Machum Lake, Meliadine River System, Rankin Inlet. 2008-Bay or Bust Expedition: Frank Wolf and Alex Raymont paddled 1,050 km by canoe from Opeongo Lake in Algonquin Park to Moosonee via the Amable du Fond, Mattawa, Ottawa, Lac Beauchene, Kipawa, Lac des Bois, Riviere Vaudray, Harricana River and James Bay. 2007- Borealis Expedition: Expedition leader, filmmaker, photographer. Along with Taku Hokoyama, Frank completed a 3,100 km canoe expedition that crossed five divides as it travelled through the heart of the Boreal wilderness of Manitoba and Ontario. The trip departed from Portage and Main in downtown Winnipeg and arrived 75 days later at his family cottage near Parry Sound. The award-winning film Borealis- about the expedition and the environmental issues facing the boreal wilderness- is airing on CBC's documentary channel through 2010. 2003- Bikes on Ice:Photographer/Videographer. Successfully retraced the 2200 kilometre route by bicycle of turn of the century gold miners Ed Jesson and Max Hirschberg. Starting in Dawson our team of three cyclists travelled for 49 days along the frozen Yukon to the Northern coast of Alaska in March and April of 2003. We eventually ended up in Nome, being the first to cycle the historic winter route since Hirschberg and Jesson did so during the Nome Gold Rush of 1900. 2001- Skagway to Dawson: 800 km by hike/kayak. With Kevin Vallely, Andy Sterns and Dave Norona we hiked the 53 km Chilkoot Trail and then kayaked the headwater lakes and Yukon River to Dawson. Part one of journey to link with "Bikes on Ice" gold rush saga. The trip took 9 days.
